I used theΒ Diwali Tea Light Diya by Pan Perkins, and made some changes to accommodate my yarn.

Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Petals
May be done in a single color or change every round.

Because I had one more increase round for the tea light, I skipped one more stitch for each repeat for Round 1 of the petals.
In the next round, I picked up the 2 skipped stitches together to “centre” the stitch.
