Work the base up to the same stitches as the last round of the hat i.e 40.

Assembling
1. Pompom to Hat
I stuffed the little pompom with the beginning yarn tail left from the magic ring, and then weave the end tail through the top of the hat, and tie a few knots with the beginning yarn tail of the hat. It really secures the pompom without too much needle work. Watch the video tutorial if this is too wordy for you. 😂
2. Base to Hat
Weave through the BLO of the base and both loops of the hat. Start stuffing about ¾ through. Weave in all ends.
3. Hair Clip
Cut a piece of felt the size of the base. Snip an opening to insert the clip, and glue onto the base.

And you are done!
