Variations
There are many ways to create V-stitches; just have to adjust the beginning foundation chain accordingly…
No-Space V-Stitch
No CH-1 between the DCs – creates a denser piece. Has only 1 stitch on each end as border.
- CH up multiples of 6
- 2 DC in 4th CH from hook
- Repeat *Skip 1, (2 DC)* till 2 CH left
- Skip 1, DC in last CH
PATTERN REPEAT - CH 3,
- Repeat *(2 DC) between DC of V-stitch*
- DC in last stitch
HDC V-Stitch
Exactly like DC V-Stitch in a different stitch. Slightly less dense than the No-Space V-Stitch. Has 2 stitches on each side as border.
- CH up multiples of 3 (+6)
- HDC in 3rd CH from hook, CH 1, skip 1
- Repeat *(HDC, CH 1, HDC), Skip 2* till 4 CH left
- CH 1, HDC in last 2 CHs
PATTERN REPEAT - CH 2, HDC, CH 1,
- Repeat *(HDC, CH 1, HDC) in each v-stitch*
- CH 1, HDC in last 2 stitches
TRC V-Stitch
Exactly like DC V-Stitch in a different stitch. Hole-ly and lacey. Has 2 stitches on each side as border.
- CH up multiples of 3 (+8)
- TRC in 5th CH from hook, CH 1, skip 1
- Repeat *(TRC, CH 1, TRC), Skip 2* till 4 CH left
- CH 1, TRC in last 2 CHs
PATTERN REPEAT - CH 4, TRC, CH 1,
- Repeat *(TRC, CH 1, TRC) in each v-stitch*
- CH 1, TRC in last 2 stitches
Pattern can be replicated further for taller stitches, increase the number of chains after the multiples of 3 for foundation chain.
