Solomon’s Knot

A fancy stitch that builds up really quickly; a great choice for scarfs and overlays.

Abbreviations

CHChain

*A* × BRepeat “A” for a number of B times
( X )Work all of “X” in ONE stitch

Knot

  • Pull up loop on hook to about half an inch {Pic. 1},
  • Hold feeding yarn, YO {Pic. 2} and pull thru pulled-up loop to form a live-loop {Pic. 3}
  • Work SC in live loop {Pic. 4}

  • Turn after each row.

Multiples

  • 2 knots (+3)

Base

CH 1,

  • Crochet knots in multiples of two to desired length
  • Make 3 more as turning knots
  • Turn & SC in 3rd knot from hook
  • Repeat: *2 knots, skip 1, SC in next knot*
  • SC in beginning CH-1

Pattern repeat

  • 3 knots, SC in next unworked knot
  • Repeat *2 knots, SC in next unworked knot*

Repeat to preferred height, a finishing row is required to end the project, remember to include it in length consideration.

Finishing Row

  • 2 knots, SC in next unworked knot
  • Repeat *2 knots, SC in next unworked knot*
